My dad (born 1934, still living) was a CHP officer from the mid-60s through the late 80s, his first two years spent in San Jose (it was either there or L.A., so he chose the “lesser of two evils”), and the rest in Calaveras County, where he won the State’s Medal of Valor award. Here are some images that bear some resemblance to where he worked and what it looked like.
