Green Bay Hosts the Aints at Their Home Opener
Packers Need a Bounce-Back Win After Their Frustrations with the Falcons
Both the offense and the defense should be highly motivated to put on a better performance this week than last, plus it’s the home opener, so although the N’awlins Aints have a vaunted defense, I’m still picking the Packers to win, albeit in a close game, 20-19.

How can the Packers entice Bill Purcells to come out of retirement? (Packers just gave up a TD in the first quarter)

Quite the comeback after allowing 17 unanswered points to score 18 and win the home opener of 2023 and Jordan Love’s first home game as a starter. My prediction was correct as far as the point differential (one point). I predicted 20-19, and it ended up 18-17.
I couldn’t watch the game, but reading the Live Blog on the Packers site, I get the impression that Quadzilla (AJ Dillon) has great power, but suboptimal vision. He’s more of a Marv Hubbard type than a shifty dude like his currently hamstrung partner Aaron (the new Aaron in town) Jones. If he could be more perceptive or quick in his reads (“run to daylight”), he could be super dangerous.

Prediction: the time will come, and it won’t be long, when the top three Packers receivers will be considered the best trio in the NFL, namely Wat (Wherefore Art Thou) Doubs, Hindu Watson, and Jaycave Reed (plus, Dontayvion Candles, Samurai Tour, and Malik Toffee are no slouches, either).
A word on Jordan Almond Love, the QB: Just as Rodgers before him learned by example from Favre, Love learned from Rodgers in the same way. The thing is, though, that both Rodgers and Love learned, not just what to do in certain situations, but also what not to do in others. Rodgers learned by watching Favre not to throw boneheaded interceptions (IOW, don’t throw into triple-coverage when another receiver is uncovered and as open as a congressman’s mouth); Love seems to have learned by observing Rodgers not to be a prima donna. Thus, he has the strong support of his teammates, which can go a long way.
Another prediction, related to that last thought: Rodgers will remain with just one Super Bowl win during his career; Love will have multiple.
