GREEN BAY PACKERS 2021: GAME #9
Vs. Kansas City Chefs; Sunday, November 7, 3:25 Packer (Central) Time
At halftime of this game, the regular season will be half over (8 1/2 games down, 8 1/2 to go).
My prediction of the final score, made on Tuesday, 11/2/21, is Packers 27-Chefs 24.
Allen “Goon” Lazard will be back. Maybe Beertiari and/or MVS, too.
Davante Adams is possible too, I guess; I don’t know how long they have to be symptom-free, etc.
I watched Netflix’s Colin In Black and White, and enjoyed it quite a bit. It was interesting also to see “Ron Swanson” (Nick Offerman) clean-shaven and ragging on a young Colin Kaepernick for his peach fuzz, saying that his nascent mustache looks “unprofessional.”
Collusion is obviously at play in Colin Kaepernick’s continued unemployment by an NFL team. Good quarterbacks are in great demand, and he could be a starter on several teams, yet he has supposedly been weighed and found wanting.
Kaepernick turns 34 tomorrow (11/3/21), so he still has several good (athletic) years left in him. If and when Rodgers and the Packers part ways, I would be happy to see the Wisconsin-born Kapernick get signed by the team. But will they (or anybody) have the guts to do it? Who will hire the modern-age Jackie Robinson?
Switching subjects now, a couple of more “bads” appeared on the packers official site today:
Yes, this is just a typo: it should be “it must now do the same” instead of “it must not do the same” (besides the fact that “it” should probably be “they”). Even though “just a typo,” it’s yet another example of a correctly-spelled word (“not”) being wrong in this context and slipping through the editor’s (is there one?) eyes and mind.
This is worse, though, IMO:
The reader asks an either/or question, and gets an “I guess” response. He guesses what? Which of the two options is he guessing to be the case? The reply makes no sense.

MVS was back at practice yesterday, along with Lazard. Adams may be back by Sunday, too. It would be great to have Superman, Goon, and Flash back on the field.
The Packers cut their Long Snapper Hunter Bradley and signed a new LS, Steven Wirtel. This indicates to me that they put at least part of the blame on Bradley for the recent kicking woes (blocked kicks, near-blocked kicks, uncharacteristic misses). Either his snaps were not snappy enough (too dawdly), or not accurate enough in placement or spin (slowing down the placement of the ball and discombobulating Mr. Bojorkles the holder and Bing Crosby the booter).

Rodgers has tested positive for COVID and will not play Sunday. 3rd-string QB Kurt Benkert has also tested positive, and so Jordan Love will play, and as of right now, there is no replacement for him should be suffer an injury. Doubtless they will bring someone in, but with only a couple of days practice … yikesaroonie! Probably an old and mediocre veteran is the best possible option.
How about Kaepernick? He may be the best available veteran. It can’t hurt that he grew up a Packers fan, either.

It’s finally gameday again. But, since the 49ers are playing at the same time as the Packers and I live in 49ers country, it looks like I won’t be able to watch the Packers beat the Chefs behind QB Jordan Lovejones and RB extraordinaire Aaron Lovejones.
When Jordan hands off or throws to Aaron, I guess it could indeed be called a “Love-Jones,” right?
I hope JL does well. I’m pretty confident he will. If he “lights it up,” that will intensify the Rodgers drama/debate/controversy.
I must admit, it’s all getting a little irritating. The time to turn the page will come eventually, possibly soon.

What a dud of a game; I followed the live blog on packers.com, going back and forth between that and reading some of E.B. White’s writings.
Based just on what I read, the Defense gets an A-, the Offense a D, and Special Teams an F.
