Both teams have identical records (7-8) going into the game, but the Vie-Kings are considered ahead in the standings (or, they are ahead in the standings, the unvarnished truth be told) because they beat the Packers earlier this year — in Green Bay, too!
If the Packers repay the favor by beating the Vie-Kings in their Minnesota matchup, the Pack will be in second place in the division and have a better shot at making the playoffs. I predict a Packers victory (naturally, since I always do), this time by a score of 24-20. This would get the Packers back to “500” (8-8) and drop the Vie-Kings two games below that (7-9) and ensure a losing season for them. Of course, if the Vie-Kings win, the opposite will be the case.
UPDATE 12/31/2023 8:44 pm Pacific Time
Packers win 33-10! They looked pretty good throughout the game. More injuries, though, to Isiah McDuffie, Pressed-on Smith, Jayden Reed, and maybe Thunder Thighs Dillon. Beat the Bears next Sunday, and it’s playoff city!
