1775— U.S. Army Starts Up

A quarter of a millennium ago, the U.S. Army was founded. The Continental Congress wanted a few good riflemen to serve for one year. Specifically, Pennsylvania, Maryland, and Virginia were selected as the places where these companies were to be recruited from to join the larger group in Boston.
This buildup was in preparation for a likely confrontation with “mother” Britain.
The next day, George Washington was selected to be the leader of this amalgamated corps.
Questions: What will happen on this 250th anniversary of the Army in 2025 (today)? When were the U.S. Navy, Marines, Coast Guard, and Air Force instituted? Which branch of the military has the most members? How many U.S. military bases are there in the U.S.? Worldwide? Do you think there will be a World War 3? Do you think that, in retrospect, it will be determined that World War 3 has already started, perhaps with the invasion of Ukraine by Russia?
