Serialization of "Quedly Dake and His Quest to Conquer the Globe" — Chapter 8 of 25
From Book 3 of the Trilogy “Taterskin & The Eco Defenders”
In time, OmniMagister continued the report:
Dake not only bragged and ridiculed, bribed and connived, he also threatened those who were impervious to his bribery attempts
“How? What did he threaten them with?” Stripes asked. Stripes and Rory were what some would call the main enforcers of The Eco Defenders. They were not inclined to put up with much guff from anybody, least of all a low-life like Dake, and they had the power and personalities needed to exert their will on others when necessary.
“OmniMagister, with what did Dake threaten people?” Alexis asked.
Dake threatened to expose those with influence (who were the ones he concerned himself with) that he would reveal their secrets, or make something up about them which would cast doubt, to say the least, on their character. If those threats didn’t work, he let it be known that he would have their children kidnapped and sold as slaves in the far corners of the globe
“That’s enough!” roared Stripes and Rory, as Marmalade hissed along with them. “Dake has to be dealt with!”
“Hold on, you two—pardon me, I mean you three,” Albert said. “I still want to see what Dake’s game is. Alexis?”
“OmniMagister, what was the result of Dake’s machinations?”
Dake was successful in his endeavors; he was elected President of the United States in 2028, and took office in 2029
